grillevator is broke

how hard is it to get into the top? My grillevator is off the gear. Also where do i GET HANDLES?

Get a manual from either Todd White or the Uncertain
Stoveman.

What ever the Grillivator is, if it is broken
you are probably going to have to remove the cook
top. Turn it upside down and remove the broiler
box. At that point you can get to the mechanism
that raises the broiler burner which is on the left
facing the stove in the original position. The mechanism that raises the
broiler pan is on the right hand side of the broiler
box when you are facing the stove. This is before
you remove the top and turn it upside down.
Handles. Post what you need either here or in the classified section. A Lot of people have spare parts and will sell them cheap. Or you can
wait for them to show up on ebay.
Hope this doesn't confuse you too much.
If I had a handle missing I would try to locate one and install it before tearing into the stove.
It just might be that the handle is all you need.

Hey Pokey, if it's the griddle lift handle that rob3825 is talking about, what about the possibility that the griddle lift spring broke?

If that's the case, simply removing the left panel will give access. Even if the problem is not the spring, perhaps a problem with the griddle lift gears could be better diagnosed and possibly rectified with the left panel removed.

How right you are. Simple is always better. I
got all involved with thinking about what he would
have to do to take the top off. I forgot about
the side panel.
